At the Administration of the Government of Georgia, the Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze, hosted a delegation from the Republic of Turkey. The delegation included: Chief Advisors to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Dr. Israfil Kışla and Dr. Yekta Saraç, Deputy President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), Dr. Hafiz Osman Şahin, General Manager of the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, Izani Turan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia, Mustafa Türker Ari and Religious Attaché, Mahmut Gol.

Zaza Vashakmadze introduced the guests to the main aspects of the religious policy of the Georgian State and drew attention to the facts of violations of the religious rights of citizens remaining in the occupied territories. The Chairman spoke in detail about the issues of protecting the rights of religious minorities, including the Muslim community of Georgia, increasing financial support, ensuring unhindered access to places of worship, as well as supporting projects and steps taken in this regard.

The guests thanked the Chairman of the Agency for hosting them and for providing interesting information. They emphasized the importance of Georgian-Turkish relations in all areas of neighborhood policy and expressed their desire to deepen cooperation with the Agency.
